Timeless beauty
We believe good design is supposed to create products that would look good in any era. While a product designed in a particular era could represent the design philosophy of that time and period, it must look appealing even a 10000 years later.
"Modern design has become boring, but it doesn’t have to be this way. The word “beautiful” is over used. We don’t need “beautiful” lamps, bus stops, and water fountains — we just need lamps, bus stops, and water fountains that are interesting, that actually mean something. At the very least, we need the details of our cities and homes to be not boring."
Watch the suggested YouTube video where you will get a perspective of what design used to be and ideally should be even today.
However in the age of so called modernism, which sometimes take the alibi of minimalism, we have seen that products are designed only to sell to the consumers of that immediate period of time.
They are usually made to earn quick money with virtually zero passion for design or aesthetics. This irks us to no end and is a form of mediocrity that is unfortunately beginning to plague our world.
At 741, our aim is to swim against this tide and create products that would look appealing if not cool even to our great grand children. Build products that have a soul, not made just to sell.
